Dangerous ice conditions continue on Lake Temagami.
At least three snow machines on bottom of lake with thankfully
no fatalities. Visitors need to contact a reliable local resident
before attempting to travel on Lake Temagami ice.
The photo below is where the usual route to the
landing from Bear Island is in mid Dec. for as long
as I have been travelling there in winter (only 25 years). Today as you
can see it is not safe for ice machines.
